Q. What is pewter? What material is
this made from?
A. Pewter can be any number of silver-gray metal alloys. This particular
alloy is made of aluminum (for itís shiny quality), copper (for its
malleability) and silica (for its strength).
Q. Is it food safe? Does it contain lead?
A. Mexican Art and Craft serve ware products are food safe. Our materials are
thoroughly tested for lead content, and surpass FDA requirements and
Proposition 65 regulations.
Q. What about the imperfections?
A. Because each of our pieces are hand-made, they have unique markings,
and are not considered to be imperfections. Slight variations are a
natural part of the process, which authenticates the uniqueness of each
Q. Can you put it in the dishwasher?
A. This serveware should not be washed in the dishwasher. Hand-wash in
warm soapy water, rinse and dry.
Q. What do you do with acidic foods?
A. When serving acidic foods, it is recommended to rub or spray a light
coat of vegetable oil to act as a barrier against staining.
